Hello Agape Friends!

We are happy to be hosting the December potluck and thought it would be nice to have one potluck this year where we aren't worried about running after kids, having conversations in 30 second sound bites and having to tag team eating. So, this will be an adult, kids-free party...I know many of you are juggling multiple adults only invitations and so we certainly understand if you dread having to pay a sitter to watch your children sleep for yet another night. However we would LOVE to see everyone so to make it a litter easier we've decided to make the food thing simple...(thank you Me'Cheal for this idea!) We will provide heavy hors d'oeuvres and all the cocktails. If you'd like, please bring your favorite cocktail accompaniment.

In years past we have also done a gift exchange which has always been a lot of fun. So, please bring a gift worth giving that doesn't exceed $20 if you'd like to participate.

Looking forward to celebrating some holiday cheer with our Agape friends.

Updates and September Pot Luck

As we continue to decorate and personalize our new classroom, we'd like to display photographs of all of our members.  Please either bring a snapshot of your family to class, or email one to agapedallas@yahoo.com. 

 

Please also email if you would like to be added to or deleted from the class email address, or if you need a name tag.

Fall Festival - Help Needed

A note from Hollis & MeCheal: As promised, here is a list of committees needed for the Fall Festival coming up on Sunday, October 26th. Thank you to Me'Cheal for putting this outline together. Please look over the list and e-mail me at hollisandbrian@sbcglobal.net if you would like to chair or participate in a certain committee. Beverly Rice has already "called" food. Yea! Please keep in mind that the Children's Council will be helping us out (especially helping to put up and take down decorations).

1) Food - Beverly Rice - Food and beverages

2) Games/Activities - Reaching out to Sunday School classes to sponsor a booth at the festival - Purchase prizes for the games

3) Layout/Maintenance - Charge of organizing where everything will be set up. Responsible for moving any necessary furniture items and returning them back to their original destination o Recruit volunteers for set-up - Meet with church coordinator to discuss logistics of event - Reserve space

4) Decorations - Putting up and taking down all decorations - Signage

5) Money/Pricing - Assigning a budget - Coming up with the ticket price for the festival (i.e. How much will it cost for families to attend) - Collecting money and paying for any outside expenses (i.e. vendors) - Keeping everything on budget This is our first big event to put on at the church as a group.

The Agape class has a wonderful reputation at the church for being a great group - let's prove it.

Nothing But Nets Basketball Tournament

The Youth-sponsored Nothing But Nets basketball tournament is coming up.  Joe & Early are playing with Dane.  Support the cause with another Agape 3 person team.  Or support the cause an our Agape players by showing up to cheer them on.

Nothin But Nets Bball Tournament this Sunday

Help raise money to buy mosquito nets for people in Africa...all you have to do is play some 3-on-3 Bball.  Tournament is after church Jan. 13; home in-time for the Cowboy game.

Christmas Party Potluck this Saturday 6 pm

Reminders:

Please remember to bring a gift if you would like to participate in the gift exchange.  The white elephant exchange is not a gag gift exchange, but a real gift, in the range of $15-20.  People can choose to participate as individuals or couples.

Also, please note the final RSVP number when making your dish, so we have enough food for all.  It looks like we are at 20 attendees at this time.  As usual, our potlucks are BYOB, so please bring your beverage of choice.
